PRESANELLA PEAK

Back

Medium

The highest and most iconic peak of the region. A guided ascent on snow slopes and granite rock cliffs passing by Monte Nero Col. Easy but long climb with scenic views.

Presanella peak, at 3558 m, is the highest mountain entirely in Trentino. The first ascent happened in 1864 august 27th by Douglas William Freshfield, Beachcroft, Walker, Devouassoud with the local porter Bortolo Delpero by the Sole valley face.
We'll meet at Segantini hut at dinner time, you can reach the hut in one hour by hiking from the Val Amola trailhead, located at the end of the Nambrone valley winding road. The most difficult parts are the Via Ferrata that crosses Monte Nero col, and the scrambling section before Orobica hut. With snow cover crampons are needed. The ascent takes 4 to 5 hours and the descent 3 to 4, so please come prepared for that to better enjoy this spectacular ascent
