The climb to the Durmont summit with the guides of the Mountain Friends gruops is pleasant excursion suitable for those who have just start hiking too. Although not very high, the mountains of Val Manez are majestic.
The Dourmont summit in particular is surrounded by woods mainly with beeches. It offers a fantastic panorama that sweeps from Presanella to Care Alto, to the Brenta Dolomites and the distant Group of Carena. The natural environment is lush, rich in flora and fauna and it offers unusual and unexpected visions of the Brenta. The top is a green crown placed over the villages of Mountagne and of the Daone Pass. The Dormont summit is a peak at the far southwest of the Brenta Group. Even though not famous and majestic as the Brenta Dolomites, the anonymous mountains in the surrounding can offer great emotions if ascents with an openmind spirit. The Cima Durmont is indeed a spectacular wide open terrace on the Adamello glaciers and peaks of the Care Alto and the Presanella. Remarkable is also the view on the Val Rendena. The area of Manez, together with that of the Monte Spinale (Madonna di Campiglio), belongs to a commons issued among of Ragoli, Mountains and Preore. The first statute of the "Regole di Spinale e Manez" dates back to 1377 and set out a series of principles inspired by a desire for strict and democratic management, that should not speculate on land and its resources: forest, livestock, farm buildings and the right to use them, pastures, all these goods had been encoded in the ancient statutes of the "regole" as well as the fines for violators.
