Brenta Dolomites and Adamello-Presanella area:
The Mountain Friends Alpine Guides of the Pinzolo Val Rendena Mountaineering, Ski Mountaineering and Hiking School organize a two-day basic ski mountaineering course among the snow-covered peaks of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella range.
The course is designed for skiers who, while already confident on groomed slopes, have never ventured off-piste and want to gain familiarity with this discipline. The program covers various topics, including uphill and downhill off-piste techniques, excursion planning, snow science, and avalanche safety procedures — all while making sure to have fun!
The course is organized over 2 days during a weekend.
Day 1: The first outing will focus on uphill ski techniques and the basics of avalanche safety. Depending on the participants’ skiing ability off-piste, the group may choose a route returning to the slopes, or attempt a first summit with an easy off-piste descent.
Excursion options: Rifugio Graffer via Malga Vagliana and Malga Vaglianella, D+ 700m, or Lago Malghette with ascent to the Genziana chairlift top station, D+ 500m.
Day 2: The itinerary will be selected according to the group’s skills and current conditions. Possible examples include Cima Roma or Passo Ritorto.
