BOCCA DI TUCKETT -BRENTA DOLOMITES

Back

Medium

A beautiful and rewarding ski mountaineering tour in the Brenta Dolomites, leading to the evocative Bocca di Tuckett, beneath the imposing walls of the Torri di Kiene and Cima Brenta. The setting is magnificent and rugged, with the unmistakable character of the Dolomites, and the ascent offers breathtaking views along the entire route.

The tour begins by taking the cable car to Passo del Grostè, the ideal gateway to the wild heart of the Brenta Dolomites. Once the ski slopes are left behind, you immediately enter a spectacular environment dominated by vertical walls and rock towers in warm hues, where the silence and grandeur of the mountains create an atmosphere of true wilderness.

The route descends among boulders and small valleys until reaching the area below the Cascata della Principessa. Here, skins are put on, and the progressive ascent begins with a traverse of about 40 minutes leading to Rifugio Tuckett (closed during winter).

From this point, the Bocca di Tuckett is clearly visible: a steep traverse below the Castelletto Inferiore allows access to the final slope, tackled with a series of kick turns up to the saddle. From the Bocca, the panorama is truly stunning: in front rise the imposing walls of Cima Brenta and the Torri di Kiene, while to the south the view opens up toward the village of Molveno and its lake.

The descent continues to offer thrilling moments. The initial slope, wide and direct, requires good skiing skills, as do some steep, mandatory sections that leave no room for errors. Next, the route enters a sparse forest, often with excellent snow conditions, gradually becoming denser, where small gullies lead toward the Vallesinella area.

From there, a calm traverse along a forest road returns to the village, concluding a complete, technical, and highly rewarding tour, suitable only for those with solid skiing ability and adequate alpine experience.
